yoga

Guided movement and breath that promote greater awareness of both the body and the mind. Whether you’re new to yoga or advanced in your practice, each class offers variations for everyone to support you on your journey. Curated classes that are equally blissful as they are playful will leave you feeling nourished and grounded. Whether you are interested in an active vinyasa or a soft yin class, there is something for everyone.

Each class is designed thoughtfully to bring you a curated experience of self-discovery. Yoga is for everybody and every body. Several variations of each pose are offered that you can build on as you continue on your yoga journey. If you've been to Kate's classes before, you'll have heard her say that it doesn't matter what it looks like, it just matters what it feels like to be moving in your body. Whether online or in-person, a safe space is created for you to connect with yourself and to align with your personal needs and wants.

In-person yoga classes

Let’s hang in person! One hour of breath, movement and relaxation in studio at Yoga Dublin. Energise and challenge the body with a vinyasa class to gain a sense of groundedness and gratitude, or opt for a yin class to surrender into slow movements and a more meditative practice.

In-studio classes are typically one hour in duration. You can rent a mat, a towel if attending a hot class, and studios come equipped with props that we will use. Don't forget your water bottle! Suitable for beginners to more advanced practitioners.

  • Location: Yoga Dublin, Ranelagh

    Date & Time: Fridays @ 7:00 AM

In vinyasa yoga, each movement is synchronised with a breath. The breath is given primacy, acting as an anchor as you move from one pose to the next. We begin with an opening meditation followed by softer movements to open and safely prepare the body. We build more heat in the body as we progress through the class but always keep moments for rest and reflection. The last 10-15 minutes of class are to stretch and cool down the body before we close the class with a final resting pose, called Sivasana.

  • Location: Yoga Dublin, Rathmines

    Date & Time: Sundays @ 6:30 PM

Details: Warm class @ 25 degrees celsius.

In yin yoga, we incorporate slow movement and hold postures less deeply than usual for upwards of 2 minutes. It targets the deepest tissues of the body, our connective tissues – ligaments, joints, bones, the deep fascia networks of the body and the meridians. This is a contrast to a Yang yoga practice (e.g Vinyasa) which targets the muscles. This is more of a meditative class that focuses on redirecting our energy.

  • Location: yogahub, Camden St.

    Date & Time: Tuesdays @ 7:30PM

These classes meld a liquid flow with slow transitions and gentle holds. Designed to relax and rejuvenate, you'll leave feeling calm, steady and centred.

Who is it for? All welcome. Chill classes are the perfect complement to more vigorous practices like running, strength training and cycling. Or as a stand alone practice to explore the subtleties of a physical yoga practice in a flowing style with more emphasis on alignment and breath than challenging variations of poses.

FOUNDER OF ECO PSYCHE

Kate Dagher

Kate-Dagher-headshot-founder-eco-psyche

My journey with yoga and breath was not one that felt organic or easy. My feedback from the first yoga class I went to was "I hated that." The feedback from many subsequent classes was similar. I persevered because of these tiny moments of peace I began to find. Like many others, it was my struggles with stress and my mental health which led me to begin my practice and I have never been so grateful to have yoga as a support to me, especially through difficult periods.

To me, yoga is so much more than a physical practice- it is a tool to get to know yourself and to really get in touch with what you need and what you want. My wish is to share this practice with as many people as possible because it truly has the power to transform your life, as it did mine.

Eco psyche was born through my desire to create a community of like-minded people who are interested in supporting their physical and psychological wellbeing through movement, breath, connection, and with nature. I believe that the world around us is a reflection of ourselves and use research to inform my teaching and spiritual approach.

I'm a multi-faceted girlie who believes that you can do it all- I'm a yoga teacher, a yoga student, a management consultant, a creative, a traveller, an expat, and so much more. I believe in a balanced approach to life and an approach to yoga that is playful and fun.

My curiosity and open-mindedness have delivered many gifts so far and I'm excited to continue sharing my knowledge of yoga, breath, spirituality, energy and psychology to both inspire and motivate those around me.

I’m so happy our journeys have converged at this moment in time because now is the time to put yourself first more than ever. Thank you so much for being here and welcome to our eco psyche community.

All my love & all my light,

Kate

You have questions, we have answers

  • In-studio vinyasa classes are not suitable for complete beginners. If you're a complete beginner, there are tons of awesome beginners classes you can try first! Youtube is also a great option for beginners. Yin classes are suitable for beginners as are my online classes because modifications are always provided.

  • Ultimately, this is your call and you need to make sure that I'm aware so that modifications can be provided. Before you decide, speak to your doctor and make sure you feel comfortable with your choice. Even if you have a regular yoga practice, you should slow down in your practice and be sensitive to the changes in your body. Many studios offer prenatal classes that may be more appropriate.
